“Contrary to expectations in some quarters, being an ambassador for Christ isn’t a mere task, it requires the Holy Spirit and grace to function well in the journey of faith” – Dunni Ayaoba
I am Oluwatoni Ibidunni Thomas a.k.a Dunni Ayaoba, I’m a female Nigerian gospel artist and hail from Lagos state.
We are six in my family including my parents. I grew up at Agiliti, Mile 12 in Lagos state. Glorious destiny was my primary school, Fly High college was my secondary and Yabatech, my tertiary institution.
Growing up was awesome, full of memories though the financial aspect wasn’t something to be boastful of because I wasn’t born with a silver spoon but I was quite fine with everything my parents offered me.
My childhood was full of learning, especially when I had to mingle with some set of children who would have ruined my prospects probably because of the diverse family background and moral ethics but thank God for my mum who knew what was before me and cautioned me severally.
However, I happened to be the best student all through my primary school where I was the Assembly prefect at primary 4 and the senior prefect (girls) in my secondary school. That basically sums it for my education.
Now, in regards to my faith, I wish I could say I’ve been saved right from when I was brought into the world because I was born into a Christian home and I’ve always been taught to always take the right path, but the truth is, we are not called sons and daughters of God till we confess Him (Jesus) as our Lord and savior. So permit me to simply just say I’ve been a good child from birth and finally making that decision to acknowledge Him and grant Him Lordship over my life gave it the spark it needed, trading beauty for ashes and making it wonderful. It’s been a journey from grass to grace and strength to strength. All glory to God!
However, I made and still make my mistakes but I do say I am ever forgiven, not that I’m deserving of it but because I know I serve a merciful God. It pays to serve God. It pays to be saved, especially when you’re baptized with the Holy Spirit, you’ll understand what I’m talking about, you’ll know how sweet Jesus is.
Anyway, moving on from that, in contrary to expectations in some quarters, being an ambassador for Christ isn’t a mere task, it requires the Holy Spirit and grace to function well in the journey of faith. You have to fast and pray, seeking the face of the Lord in all forms. Even the Bible confirmed it that since the days of John the Baptist, heaven suffereth violence and only the violent taketh it by force so that depicts there’s a need for self discipline and determination to scale through.
As I conclude, I will advice as many out there who might be struggling with one thing or the other or maybe you’re just still new to the Faith and need answers, please have faith, seek the face of the Lord at all times and never speak ill of your Creator just because you’re not pleased with your current situation. Be steadfast at all times before God and His positive covenants will come to pass in your life. Amen
