Revival – Kay Magnate

Many claim to be Christians but the truth is, physically we are there but spiritually we are not. Our heart is far from God. But I want you to know one thing, sooner than we think, the trumpet will sound, and the question is, how prepared are you? Some will say I’ve been in the Lord for eighteen years but it really isn’t about the number of years but how faithful you’ve been through the years. It isn’t about how long you’ve been a believer but it’s about making it to heaven eventually. Heaven they say is the reward of a believer. Tell me what good it is when you spent the whole week studying for a test and eventually failing it when the result comes out. Your days on earth are like a student undergoing a semester in the university. By the end of the semester, he will be sitting for an examination, and if well prepared for, he passes and graduates to the next class.

This is just how I see life if you may ask me. We are in this world studying the words and ways of our Lord Jesus Christ, who died and was buried and eventually resurrected so that we can have life and have it more abundantly. Eventually, we are going to stand before the Lord and be judged by the works of our hands, and only the just shall pass and make it to the next class; Heaven. Now tell me, what good is it, if you don’t eventually make it to heaven when the Lord comes for His people after all this drama must have been played out on earth? Well, I got a good news for you, because when there’s life, there’s hope. The fact you are still breathing only proves it’s not too late. You can still make amends and start making the right choices. And to do that, you need revival. Now, the question is, what is revival??

Revival is a divine visitation from above through grace. Now, who needs revival? According to the book of Luke chapter 19:1-5, we see that sinners need revival. This chapter talks about a chief tax collector named Zacchaeus who collects bribe and did all kinds of dirty dealings all in the name of accumulating wealth because the Bible made us understand he was rich. But then, he knew he was a sinner and had done a lot of things to run short of the glory of God and needed mercy. He knew he needed to be revived and he went to great extent to get it. When Jesus came into Jericho, he tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree beside the road, for Jesus was going to pass that way. He knew he needed it so bad and he was ready to take any risk to get his revival, which he eventually did. Are you a sinner? Do you need revival? It’s free!! You don’t have to pay a penny to get it, just call on His name today and let His blood begin to cleanse you.

Secondly, backsliders need revival. Now, who is a backslider? A backslider is someone who knew God at one time or the other but has gone back to his old ways. He had a taste of what righteous living is all about but not living aligned with God’s ways anymore. If you fall into this category, you are a backslider and you need revival. There’s something in you that is dead and needs to be revived. The Bible tells us of Demas in the book of 2 Timothy 4:10, who deserted God because he loves the things of this life and had gone to Thessalonica. Crescens had gone to Galatia, and Titus had gone to Dalmatia. Backsliders need revival, that’s the only way you can find your way back to God and I pray it wouldn’t be too late for you In Jesus Name.

Finally on my list for today of those that need revival are God’s people. In John 3:1, the Bible makes us understand that the Jews love God. They were seen to be godly people. They were the type always ready to fast and pray. They are so religious, yet Nicodemus didn’t know what it meant to be born again. The people of God need revival. Your zeal for God when you became born again, is it still there? How do you see the things of God now? These are some questions you need to start asking yourself. I need revival, you need revival… we all need revival.

With that said, I want you to know asides making it to heaven when the Master comes to take His own which is basically the primary goal for our righteous living, there is so much blessing attached to being revived. Revival brings about restoration. That which you’ve lost will be restored to you. When you get revived, it brings joy and blessing. It connects you back to God. Samson was connected back to God when he got his revival. New visions and ideas start following you. A revived person receives mercy from the Lord. It waves away the anger of God and paves a way for victory and breakthrough. It brings forgiveness and attracts mercy. When you allow yourself to be revived, it brings about the holiness of the body, the soul and the spirit. And I pray this day that you will begin to witness the power of God’s revival and everything dead in your life will begin to come alive, In Jesus Name.

Furthermore, what are the benefits of revival? First and foremost, God is glorified. He is happy when you are revived. The truth is, Jesus is sad when He sees His own child that He suffered for going out of His way and He is so happy when He sees that child coming back to Him. Most Christians don’t even know anymore that there’s a goal they are pursuing. We seem to have gotten our priorities misplaced, forgetting very soon the master will be coming to take His own. Beloveth, we need revival. Moreover, it’s not enough for us to just hear it, it goes beyond that. You have to desire it. Know, within yourself that you’ve missed it at some point and need to retrace your steps back to the Lord so that you can have His full mercy.

Fast and pray, for nothing works without prayer, if you have missed it, fast and pray it back. Ask for it, even the Bible says, “you’ve not received because you’ve not asked”. Ask and it shall be given unto you. Like I said earlier, you don’t have to pay a penny for it. Just ask and the power of His words will revive you. In conclusion, trust God to do it. Forsake your sins and make up your mind to live for God. He is a faithful father and He is always ready to revive you. Even the Bible says in the book of 2 Chronicles 7:14 that, “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. Call on Him this day and the spirit of the Lord shall visit you and bring all that is dead in your life back to life In Jesus Name.
