It is funny how people would compare you to individuals who have mastered their craft through consistency and years of hard work. Rome wasn’t built in a day and everything in life takes time and should follow due course if it will ever stand the true test of time. We really cannot rush what we want to last forever. Must I remind you all that these individuals in question didn’t just achieve all the recommendations, recognition and success in a day, they must have been where you and I are today and it’s just a matter of time and we will no longer be referred to as startups.
Therefore, rather than allowing people mount unnecessary pressure on you, telling you what you should and shouldn’t do, why not take your time to build yourself up and learn instead of rushing to compete with those that have been there because that will only make you lose yourself, thus leading you to a land of frustration.
If you really want to make a mark, if you really want to be different, forget what others are doing and how far behind you are and focus on developing yourself and finding that thing that defines you and then the world will notice by just a single click. If there’s anything I’ve learnt through my past experiences, it is to trust the progress and respect the process. You have no business competing but complementing what others have done and the only way you can make that happen is by humbling your way up and that takes patience and partnership with the Holy Spirit.
What’s the point rushing and only to crash out eventually? The people up there at the top of their game are there because they did things the right way. They didn’t just wake up one morning to start climbing the ladder. First of all, you have to be able to place the ladder right so you don’t fall while trying to get up, and then climb up with a single step at a time.
“Don’t be too much in a haste to achieve success, it is a process that takes time and with proper planning” – Kay Magnate
Believe in your dream and tread softly so that you don’t miss out on all the points you’re meant to gather on your way up as you journey in your pursuit of happiness. It is good to work hard no doubt, but wisely too. Have a plan and execute it constructively, not hastily. Pay your dues just as the church expects you to pay your tithes and everyone ahead of you will serve as a stepping stone that paves a way for you to achieve so effortlessly, what they struggled so hard to achieve.
“Take your time and you’ll never go wrong. It is better to be late and get it right than to rush to a flop, or not get there at all.” – Kay Magnate
