There's Light At The End Of The Tunnel

There's Light At The End Of The Tunnel

A random thought came to my mind today and I'm just so grateful for my journey.

I remember when I finished my NYSC, I was so tired of sitting at home looking for a job. I subscribed to all the job update platforms I knew of. My mailbox was full of job vacancy emails. During that period of my life, I applied for all the graduate trainee programs I ever came across. I applied and applied and applied.

I decided to take it a step further, I printed my CV and every necessary document, bought a file and kept everything there. I started going from one place to the other to drop my application letter and my CV.

I'm so grateful for my dad, the days I wasn't sure of some locations to submit my CV, this man will follow me there, and speak with the people we meet there. They'll end up telling me to drop my CV and application letter. Their response is always "We'll get back to you" but nothing happened afterwards. I did this for months until I was tired. I stopped going anywhere, I stopped applying for jobs. I was frustrated and unhappy. I crieeeeddd and creewwdd.

Eventually, I decided to let go of all my worries of getting a job and I decided to focus on God the giver of all good things.

Trust me, I finished as the best-graduating student in my department so my grade wasn't the problem. I just couldn't understand why I wasn't invited for an interview by any organization or offered a job, I had this feeling of #rejection deep down in my heart. I was so pained, it seemed as if nothing was working but everything is a testimony today. Grateful for the process.

Today, the story has changed. My present job is a job I never thought I will get. It came with so much ease, my school certificate didn't matter. God showed up at the moment I least expected.

Your story might not be that of job hunting like mine but I just want you to know that God has not forgotten you, He's so mindful of you. No matter how many times you've been rejected, sidelined or overlooked by people, keep your gaze on God, the lifter of your head.

There's light at the end of the tunnel and believe that no good thing will the Lord withhold from you.

When my pen bleeds, expressions are kept close to my heart, and as it bleeds the words from deep within through my writings, I discover I have created art. I display a piece of my soul. This is my work, my blood, and it should be an object of pride, no matter how much it is criticized or praised.
