Surround Yourself (There Is More)

Surround Yourself (There Is More)

People would always feel they are better than us which makes perfect sense and shouldn't be a thing of a bother if you ask me. It shows we are well-positioned. It is better to be around those who are better than us in quote because it creates an avenue to learn and grow. Best bet, we'll be better than them in 5 - 10 years if we can keep our heads high and set well-defined goals.

But remember; we are not in competition with anyone. We will start to lose our footing the second we allow emotions in. Add value for the sake of becoming a better version of yourself, not to prove a point to others. That's selfish and immature and never yields the best results.

Stay humble, work hard, be persistent and never bite the fingers that fed you. These are some of destiny's ingredients that spice up the soup of our lives. However, be rest assured there will be distractions and nerves kicking in at very significant times in our endeavour but we will be amazed by the aggrandizement if we can remain focused and dedicated to the cause.

To achieve this extraordinary but possible fit, be sure to do the following things;

1. Surround yourself with people you can always learn something from.

2. Always work with people who are better at their craft than you are. You're not going to be great at everything.

3. Surround yourself with people who can complement you so you can work together and everybody can succeed.

Many more success-provoking steps can be adopted to create better versions of ourselves but I'd like to stop at those mentioned above for the sake of this piece. You know, every challenge is an opportunity to measure yourself against your potential. In reality, no one is better than you, they are just different in a way that is better than you. We will discover our hidden strengths and talents when we surround ourselves with those who push us to be better and be more.

There is more.

Unfortunately, many are discouraged when they are the least good in the room when in fact, should be seen as a blessing in disguise. Being the best in the group may stifle our growth as we are not challenged and may become too comfortable unless we constantly set goals that propel us to greater heights.

We are not defined by our current situation or our past. Failure is an illusion until we accept it as our reality. To succeed is to fail without giving up and keeping our mindset on the ultimate prize. It is almost impossible to continually play second fiddle in life if we can find different and better ways to try than the last time.

Surround yourself with individuals who have tested the waters, it doesn't make you less productive or useful, rather, it helps streamline the availability of choices and steps to apprehend in your pursuit of happiness. At some point in our life, we find ourselves swimming in an ocean filled with sharks and it's left to see what we can make of the adventure.

To become a better version of ourselves, we must refuse to drown or be eaten by sea creatures (Sharks) who can smell blood from a couple of miles away. Blood in this context, however, represents fear and doubt and only if we can have faith as small as a mustard seed, we can say to the mountain, be moved and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for us. (Matthew17:20-21)

We will prevail beyond our present challenges but we must make intentional moves that may not naturally seem feasible to the physical eyes and that's the beauty of it all because we are spiritual beings and only dwell in a borrowed body that soon decomposes when we give up the ghost and go on to be with the Lord. But today, we still have breath in us, let us appreciate the universe for the many trials and tribulations we are faced with because they tend to bring out the best in us. Without challenges, it is impossible to discover our true worth and tap into the ocean of possibilities air-marked by great potentials that are lodged within.

There is more.

Who we are today is nothing compared to who we will be tomorrow. Create avenues to learn and grow, and submit yourself to honest and healthy criticism. That colleague who looks and talks down on you might be the one God is using to prepare you for the higher place. That doesn't necessarily mean he or she is the one positioned to pass knowledge across to you. Quite frankly, they mostly aren't.

There will always be that one person who thinks so highly of himself or herself and never bothers about the growth and transformation of others and would stop at nothing to frustrate and make us think less of ourselves. However, I earnestly desire that we never allow that to derail us, rather, let us be motivated to become everything we desire and hope to be.

There is more.

When my pen bleeds, expressions are kept close to my heart, and as it bleeds the words from deep within through my writings, I discover I have created art. I display a piece of my soul. This is my work, my blood, and it should be an object of pride, no matter how much it is criticized or praised.
